Would you ‘cha cha cha’ in front of hundreds for your favorite charity? Well, that’s what our very own Craig Sroda will be doing for the Center for the Homeless in South Bend, in their version of “Dancing with the Stars.” A group of community members, partnered with professional dance instructors will be competing against one another on April 29th.
The Center for the Homeless is a nationally recognized model serving the most vulnerable throughout the South Bend area. This dance competition is part of their yearly Miracle Auction event. Money raised goes directly to support the Center’s mission which has provided more than 700,000 safe nights, over 1.5 million meals, and has welcomed over 45,000 men, women, and children since its opening in 1988. Their intensive programs are designed to break the cycle of homelessness and to equip individuals with the tools and support to turn their lives around. They have received considerable national attention due to their innovation and effectiveness.
Craig Needs your Votes!
As this is a fundraiser, the competition is won by securing votes prior to the event. Each vote costs $39, the cost to house and feed one guest at the Center for a day. Our goal is to raise $15,000 for the homeless. Daunting as that may seem, we ask that you consider the largest gift you are capable of so that we can leverage the greatest dollars possible. Donations can be made online. We ask that you make your donation no later than March 31st. All donations are tax deductible.
Will you help?
The red-carpet event, which includes a dinner and auction, should be great fun. For those of you not able to make the event, videos of the dances will be posted online afterwards. Please remember that by supporting Craig, you are supporting a top-notch program that caters to the most vulnerable in our community. With the current economy, the Centers needs are greater than ever. We hope that you are in a position to give to this incredible cause.
