Edward Lowe Foundation
Established in 1985 by Edward Lowe, who was a visionary entrepreneur who created a whole new product category with his invention of cat-box filler. Mr. Lowe made the trademark “Kitty Litter” part of household vocabulary.
As his business grew over a 40-year time span, Edward Lowe had a desire to establish something more than a successful business-he wanted to develop a way to help others succeed with their business dreams. The Edward Lowe Foundation is what resulted from that dream...
“To champion the entrepreneurial sprit by providing information, research and educational experiences for growing companies” is the mission statement of The Edward Lowe Foundation.
The Foundation is an advocate for peer-to-peer learning, next-level thinking, and thoughtful growth for “second stage” entrepreneurs. It is an operating foundation and it’s primary focus is to provide a variety of programs and services to non-profit entrepreneurial support organizations. The Foundation’s three primary areas of service are leadership retreats for business owners, information technology solutions, and customized publications. After Mr. Lowe’s death in October 1995, Darlene Lowe took over the leadership of the work began by her husband.
“As technical support for our finance and human resources software, I can say that Pinnacle knows the meaning of “customer service”. When I call them I know that I will receive a quick response and won’t get lost in the shuffle. This gives me the opportunity to move on to another issue, knowing that they will work on it until they get it resolved. All of this makes my life much easier”, according to Pat Keenan.
Their website provides a reference of support organizations in each region of the country & recommends that a business owner network with his/her peers. A business owner can interact directly with the Foundation through its website (www.lowe.org) and the “PeerSpectives” newsletter, or call direct at 616-445-4200.
